Welcome to Sunside Shih Tzu!
Sunside Shih Tzu is a small, dedicated hobby kennel located in Drumheller, Alberta. My name is Mae Sy-Macatangay, and I am the proud owner, handler, and breeder of Sunside Shih Tzu. My journey with Shih Tzus began in my childhood, second generation shih tzu dog lover. I am guided by my mother, an esteemed FCI all-breed dog show judge, who mentored me every step of the way. Together, we have been involved in the dog world for over 40 years. Over the years, I have shown Shih Tzus in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia earning multiple Best in Show placements and developing a deep passion for this extraordinary breed. Sunside Shih Tzu is internationally recognized, with successful dogs in various countries, including Poland, Australia, Japan and Philippines. In 2006, my husband and I, both graduated of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the Philippines, relocated to Canada. Here, I continued my lifelong dedication to Shih Tzus. Today, Sunside Shih Tzu is proud to be the home of Best in Show and multiple Reserve Best in Show-winning Shih Tzu in Canada. I am a proud member of both the Canadian Kennel Club and the Canadian Shih Tzu Club, striving to uphold the highest standards in breeding, care, and presentation of this beloved breed.
